Free 14-Hour Real Estate CE for Venice, FL Agents

Venice is one of Sarasota County's most established coastal markets, and the agents who work it, from the Island of Venice to South Venice, Nokomis and the new communities east of I-75, all share the same Florida renewal requirement: 14 hours of FREC-approved continuing education every two-year license cycle. DCA Florida Homes sponsors this course so Venice-area sales associates and brokers can complete it free, online, and at their own pace, provided by Sunstate Real Estate School.

What the 14 hours cover

After your first renewal, every Florida sales associate and broker must complete 14 hours of CE before the license expires.

  • 3 hours Core Law: current Florida real estate license law and FREC rule changes
  • 3 hours Ethics & Business Practices: professional conduct, fair dealing and business practices
  • 8 hours specialty: elective topics that build practical skills for your market

Renewal deadlines for Venice agents

Florida real estate licenses expire on either March 31 or September 30, on a two-year cycle. Your exact date is on your license and in your DBPR online account. Finish your CE before that date so you can renew on time and keep your license active.

First renewal is different

If this is your first renewal, the 14-hour CE does not apply yet. Sales associates must complete 45 hours of post-licensing education and brokers 60 hours before the first expiration date.

If you miss the deadline

A license that is not renewed by its expiration date goes inactive. You have up to two years from expiration to reactivate before the license becomes null and void, and licensees who become involuntary inactive must complete a 28-hour reactivation course. See our Florida license renewal guide for the full process.

Why Venice agents use this course

  • 100% free, sponsored by DCA Florida Homes
  • Online and self-paced, so you can study between showings
  • Unit quizzes and a final exam, then a certificate of completion
  • Built for Sarasota and Charlotte County agents, including Venice, Nokomis, Osprey and Englewood

Serving the Venice market

Venice sits between Sarasota to the north and North Port and Englewood to the south, so many local agents also work buyers looking at new construction in North Port and Port Charlotte. Our sponsor, DCA Florida Homes, builds new homes in that area, and agents can learn about working with them at dca.homes/for-agents.
