Is the 14-hour CE course really free?
Yes. The 14-hour continuing education course is offered completely free, courtesy of DCA Florida Homes. There is no cost to enroll, complete the course, or receive your certificate.
Who provides this CE course?
The course is provided by Sunstate Real Estate School, a DBPR-approved real estate school (Provider # ZH1002805). DCA Florida Homes provides sponsorship support only and does not influence course curriculum or credit determination.
Is this course FREC-approved?
Yes. The course is approved by the Florida Real Estate Commission (FREC) and the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR).
How long does the course take to complete?
The course is 14 hours total, divided into 14 units. You can complete it at your own pace — all at once or spread over multiple sessions. Your progress is saved automatically.
Can I complete the course at my own pace?
Yes. The course is fully self-paced. You can stop and resume whenever you like. Each unit tracks your progress, so you always know where you left off.
What topics are covered in the 14-hour CE course?
The course covers three categories required by FREC: Core Law, Business Ethics, and Specialty Education. These are spread across 14 units, each focusing on a specific topic relevant to Florida real estate practice.
How is each unit structured?
Each unit includes a written PDF textbook, an audio lecture you can listen to while reading, and a quiz at the end to test your understanding. You must pass the quiz to mark the unit complete and unlock the next one.
Do I need to pass a quiz for each unit?
Yes. Each unit has a quiz that you must pass with a score of 80% or higher to mark the unit complete and unlock the next unit.
Can I retake quizzes if I don't pass?
Yes. You can retake quizzes as many times as you need. There is no limit on quiz retakes.
How does the final exam work?
After completing all 14 units, you take a final exam. There are five different final exams to choose from (Final Exam I through V), each with 30 questions. You only need to pass one to complete the course.
What score do I need on the final exam?
You need a score of 80% or higher to pass the final exam.
Can I retake the final exam if I don't pass?
Yes. If you don't pass, you can immediately try another of the five final exams. There is no limit on exam retakes.
How do I get my certificate of completion?
After passing the final exam, your completion is recorded and a certificate of completion is emailed to you with your name, license number, completion date, and final exam score. Your completion is also reported to DBPR by Sunstate Real Estate School.
How long do I have access to the course?
You have access to the course for as long as you need to complete it. There is no expiration on your enrollment.

Do I need to be a DCA Florida Homes client to take the course?

The course is available to all Florida-licensed real estate professionals statewide. DCA Florida Homes is based in North Port and serves Sarasota and Charlotte County, but the CE course is open to agents anywhere in Florida.
